Good Morning, there,
1 Corinthians 13:4 (NKJV)
love does not envy;
Envious people are cruel. They focus more on the negative instead of the positives. They focus more on tearing down those they are meant to serve. Envious people fail to focus on God and His plan. They become consumed with hate and spend their time figuring out what they can do to go against others.
Love that does not envy reflects the heart of Christ, who rejoices in others’ good and remains secure in God’s provision. By rejecting envy, we are able to demonstrate the kind of love that glorifies God.
Journal Prompt: Have you ever experienced moments of envy? What triggered those feelings, and how did they affect your attitude, thoughts, or actions?
Much Love, Dr. Vonie
